Overview

Despite the ever increasing importance of organ donation there is currently limited training for the healthcare workforce regarding this complex issue.

On this course, you will learn about the basic principles and processes involved in organ donation from the legal aspects, selection and management of potential organ donors, techniques of donation, and harvesting and maintenance of the donated organ.



CURRICULUM

Module 1

  • An overview of legal and infrastructure requirements
    for organ donation

Module 2

  • Declaration of Brain Death

Module 3

  • Maintenance of the organ donor in ICU

Module 4

  • Selection of the Deceased liver donor

Module 5

  • Selection of the Live liver donor

Module 6

  • Technique of cadaveric organ harvesting

Module 7

  • Technique of living donor hepatectomy

Module 8

  • Principles of organ preservation including machine
    perfusion

Overall program will have 2 online assessments, formative assessments at the end of each module and summative assessment at the end of all the modules.

A 'Certificate of Achievement' will be issued on successful completion of summative assessment with a minimum score of 70% mark.
